Xtech Tactical Releases Extended Mag for Smith & Wesson M&P 9 Series

A joke from the 1984 mockumentary “Spinal Tap” was the lead guitarist’s joke about having an amplifier that goes up to 11 instead of 10. Anyone with an understanding of electronics knows it was meaningless, but that didn’t stop some musicians from buying equipment that had knobs that would go to 11 or higher.

It was pure marketing hyperbole that didn’t offer any actual benefits.

The same can’t be said of XTech Tactical’s new 22-round Extended Magazines for Smith & Wesson’s M&P 9 full-size semi-automatic handguns and a separate offering for the M&P 9 Compact and FPC carbine. Taking advantage of XTech Tactical’s U.S. utility patent (US11408697B2), which allows for 22 rounds to be fit snugly, both are 1/2-inch shorter than factory extended magazines while offering tool-free, easy takedown for cleaning.

Each magazine is constructed from premium materials, including Italian-made steel magazine bodies and molded followers, American-made 17-7 stainless steel springs, and glass-filled nylon polymer components.

The XTech Tactical 22rd Extended Magazine for M&P9 Full Size is available now for $39.95 MSRP, while the XTech Tactical 22rd Extended Magazine for FPC & M&P9 Compact has an MSRP of $42.95. Both magazines include a lifetime warranty.

Note: The magazines will not fit into a limited-class magazine gauge, however.
