Food Truck Owner Shoots Knife-Wielding Man At Busy Intersection

SANFORD, MAINE — On Friday afternoon, near a key intersection in Sanford, a shooting incident occurred, prompting police reassurance that there is no ongoing threat to the public. The incident unfolded around 3:52 p.m. at the crossroads of Main Street (Route 109) and Lebanon Street (Route 202).

According to eyewitness accounts, an individual wielding a knife was seen erratically moving in and out of traffic, while shouting at passing vehicles. This individual then confronted the owner of a food truck positioned near a new T-Mobile store. The altercation escalated, resulting in the knife-wielding man being shot by the owner of the food truck.

Police have confirmed that the food truck owner is actively cooperating with investigators as they collect evidence and conduct interviews. The injured man is currently in serious condition at Maine Medical Center.
