Streamlight Introduces TLR-7 HL-X Sub USB: A Powerful Light for Subcompact Handguns
EAGLEVILLE, PA — Streamlight, Inc., a leading manufacturer of high-performance lighting and weapon light devices, has unveiled a new addition to its popular TLR-7 series—the TLR-7® HL-X sub USB. This compact tactical light brings an impressive 1,000 lumens of brightness and multi-fuel capability to subcompact handguns, significantly enhancing visibility and performance in tactical scenarios.
The TLR-7 HL-X sub USB is designed to fit a wide range of popular subcompact handguns from brands like GLOCK®, SIG SAUER®, Smith & Wesson®, Beretta®, Springfield Armory®, and Heckler & Koch®. According to Streamlight’s President and CEO Ray Sharrah, this new model provides users with more versatility, allowing them to select their preferred lumen output and power source depending on the situation. The light supports both USB-rechargeable and disposable lithium batteries, offering flexibility for different operational needs.
Advanced Brightness and Versatility
At its full power, the TLR-7 HL-X sub USB delivers 1,000 lumens and 10,000 candela with a beam distance of up to 200 meters. This high-intensity output is ideal for tactical situations where maximum illumination is critical. For users who require a less intense beam or want to conserve battery life, the light can be programmed to emit 500 lumens, providing 5,000 candela and a beam distance of 141 meters.
The light’s power source can be adapted to suit the user’s needs. When using Streamlight’s SL-B9® USB-C rechargeable battery pack, the runtime is 30 minutes at 1,000 lumens or one hour at the reduced 500-lumen setting. The battery recharges in just 2.5 hours using a standard USB-C cable. For users who prefer disposable batteries, the TLR-7 HL-X sub USB can also be powered by a single 3-volt CR123A lithium battery, delivering up to 1.5 hours of runtime at 500 lumens.
Built for Practical Use
Like all TLR® series lights, the HL-X sub USB is built for ease of use and safety. The light features an ambidextrous design, allowing left- and right-handed users to operate it with ease. The quick-mount clamp system, compatible with most subcompact handgun rails, ensures the light can be attached and detached quickly without putting hands near the muzzle.
In addition, the TLR-7 HL-X sub USB features a “safe-off” mode to prevent accidental activation during storage or transport. Its rugged construction, made from machined aircraft-grade aluminum with a black anodized finish, ensures durability. The light is waterproof up to one meter for 30 minutes, with an IPX7 rating, and has been extensively live-fire tested to withstand heavy recoil.
Compatibility and Pricing
The TLR-7 HL-X sub USB is available in four models, each tailored for specific subcompact handgun platforms, including:
- GLOCK® 43X/48 MOS and 43X/48 Rail
