Introducing the New Watchtower Spec-Ops Type 15

Watchtower Firearms is a new veteran-owned firearms manufacturer located in the gun-friendly area of Spring, Texas. Their facility specializes in AR platform rifles, with a share of 2011s and suppressors thrown in for good measure. In 2024, Watchtower rolled out its semi-custom Type 10 Spec Ops—their take on the AR-10 in .308 Winchester. Now, Watchtower is following it up with the Type 15 Spec Ops in either 5.56 NATO or .223 Wylde.

The Watchtower Type 15 Spec Ops is a factory option with custom features. It features a 16-inch barrel, either a 5.56 NATO hammer-forged option with a phosphate finish or a stainless-steel barrel chambered for .223 Wylde. The rifle carries the B5 Systems Bravo adjustable buttstock and Type 23 P grip for excellent fit from the shoulder to a firing grip. The receiver is made of 7075 T6 billet aluminum and is available in a black, OD Green, FDE, and wolf gray cerakote. Likewise, the 13.7-inch S7M M-LOK handguard is available in those color options.

The Type 15 Spec Ops has four QD sling points and an ambidextrous safety selector. But perhaps the biggest standout feature is the Hiperfire EDT2 Heavy Gunner trigger. This single-stage trigger weighs 4.5 to 5.5 lbs. and has a swift reset and a heavier hammer head for popping the hardest primed rounds. The rifle ships with a single 30-round magazine and a hard case. The MSRP is $1,479.
