Helikon-Tex Launches IR-Defeating FIELD Fabric in Pantera Camo
October 28, 2026
Helikon-Tex has rolled out a new IRR-compliant fabric called FIELD, built to cut down how visible your kit is under night vision and thermal imaging, and it's launching in the hard-to-find Polish wz.93 "Pantera" woodland pattern.
Key points
- The tech: FIELD fabric is engineered to absorb and reflect light in the 700-1100 nm range, which covers both near-infrared image intensification ("night vision") and thermal IR detection, aiming to blend closer to natural surroundings under those sensors.
- The pattern: First release is in Polish wz.93 Woodland, better known as "Pantera," a camo pattern that's been popular but not always easy to source in quality gear.
- What's available: The lineup includes MCDU and MBDU shirts and pants, boonie hats, Guardian plate carriers, Guardian smallpacks, Ambush backpacks, modular individual med kits, and various pouches.
- Where to look: Soldier Systems Daily shared a comparison image showing the visual difference FIELD fabric makes versus standard printed camo under IR.
Quick take
IRR-compliant fabric isn't new in military circles, but seeing it show up on a civilian-available Helikon-Tex line in a pattern as sought-after as Pantera is worth a look if you run NV or thermal gear and care about how your kit prints under those optics. Worth checking the full lineup before you buy your next loadout in this pattern.
