Savage Enters Suppressor Market With Reflex-Design Accu-Can 30 B.O.B.
October 31, 2026
Savage Arms is better known for bolt guns than suppressors, but that's changing. TFB's Silencer Saturday series just got an early look at the Accu-Can 30 B.O.B., Savage's new reflex-design can, and the short version is that it's a legitimately different take on a .30-caliber suppressor worth knowing about before you spend $999.
Key points
- Reflex design: B.O.B. stands for "back over barrel," meaning the rear of the can extends over the first few inches of barrel to add internal volume without adding overall length.
- Specs: It weighs 13.7 oz, runs 8 inches long and 2 inches in diameter, and is rated for .30-caliber cartridges up to .300 Win. Mag., with aluminum construction and a titanium thread insert.
- Rate of fire limit: Savage specifies one round per second for up to 20 rounds before the can needs to cool back to ambient temperature.
- Thread adapter warning: TFB flags that the 5/8-24 threads sit deep inside the reflex chamber, so a muzzle adapter that backs out could get trapped inside with no easy way to remove it.
- Early impressions only: TFB tested it on a Savage 110 Predator Ultra Light in 6.5 Creedmoor and found it subjectively quiet, but has no formal sound data yet.
Quick take
This is a first-look, not a full review, so treat the quiet-can impressions as anecdotal for now. Still, a reflex suppressor from a mainstream manufacturer is worth watching, especially with Savage now under Smith & Wesson ownership and Gemtech already in that portfolio.
